2012 - Kino Euphoria and Vadelma fest

Some time from last update... Facebook has been lot easier to use.
But! This is what we've been up to!

Again Teatteri Olemus made a performance on Vadelma Fest 2012 in Alppipuisto, Helsinki. Same time an organisation called Euphoria Borealis arranged a kino kabaret so of course it sounded like a "extremely good idea" to combine these two to one art experiment: How to make short film of/during an improvised performance in front of an audience. And that's what we did on Vadelma fest, performing were dancers from Teatteri Olemus and participants of Kino Euphoria, 3 persons with camera came from Kino Euphoria and making music were the director from Teatteri Olemus together with boys from Vadelma. It helped a lot that Kinolab was full of glitter costumes... :D


With few of the same people we already experimented with the idea of screendancefilm, or mostly that how to make one or more importantly how to twist our brains to see the film making more like dancing. During the first session of Kino Euphoria, six person shut themselves into room for one night to experiment with movement and that material was screened 60 hours later as a 1 minute film with live music accompaniment. The feedback was so positive that we are thinking of editing it longer (there's a LOT OF good material still left) and making composed music for it. Might take few months before have actually time to do that. Untill that, here's the 1 minute version without sound.

Vadelmafest 2011

Teatteri Olemus with Klava!

October 27. would have been Kazuo Ohno's 104th birthday...

So, to celebrate this, tiny group of butoh-enthusiast organised a

"Butoh Flower Dance Flashmob in Honor of Kazuo Ohno" in facebook, so that in all corners of our round world people would go out to dance with flowers to the universe at the same time. We were not many but we did it.

 

Teatteri Olemus took part on this in Norway, in the tinyest village next to Hardangervidda, which is the biggest mountain plateau on Northern Europe. Allthough local folk art students didn't really know what was going on, they still joined dancing and playing and (en)joying. And that, I think, is the point of it. :)

WIDE STORM CRAZY PAPER (Daring Enterprise, situation 9)

Hannaleena Hauru and Tuulia Kallio, the founder members of Teatteri Olemus have joined in making of an experimental short film. The film was filmed during a trip from Finland to Norway and it contains butoh performance, improvised music and documentary clipps. The film is a part of Hauru's master thesis.

Olemisen ihmettelyä

Yrttikausi alkaa!

Rekisteröidyn Yhdistyksemme säännöissä sanotaan mm: "Tarkoituksensa toteuttamiseksi yhdistys:
- ylläpitää Teatteri Olemus -nimistä teatteria
- toimeenpanee teatterinäytäntöjä ja niihin verrattavia tilaisuuksia
- järjestää harjoituksia, tiedotus- , tutkimus- ja koulutustilaisuuksia."

Tätä kirjoittaessani painotan tuota viimeistä. Siispä!

On aika järjestäytyä Teatteri Olemuksen toisen toiminta-ajatuksen mukaan (se ensimmäinen oli siis se teatteri&taide), eli parantavuuden ja olemisen ihmettelyyn.
Varsinaisen jäsenistön (3kpl) lähipiiri (muut toimintaan mukaan kutsutut :) on esittänyt toiveita viimevuotisten yrttienkeruuretkien ja syksyisten sieniretkien järjestämisestä tänäkin vuonna, joten saamanne pitää. Olkoon feissari foorumina yhteydenpitoa ja toiveiden esittämistä varten, niille jotka ovat kutsuttuja mukaan, toiveita mukaanpääsystä saa esittää pj Kalliolle. Retket tulevat olemaan kuitenkin pienimuotoisia.

Yhteyshenkilönä kaikkien kesken ja logistiikkaa sovittaessa olkoon Tuulia.
Varsinaisessa yrttitietoudessa ja muussa luontotietoudessa turvaamme keruuneuvojaan, eli jäsen Sivanin oppeihin.

Ensimmäinen retki toteutunee jo toukokuun aikana, eli lähiviikkoina, jotta ensimmäiset nokkoset saataisiin talteen, koivunmahlakauteen tuskin enää kerkiämme (se oli kyllä hyvää tänä vuonna). Sillä aikaa, käykäähän kirjastoissa sivistämässä itseänne Piipon kirjoilla, ettei tule pomittua mitään myrkyllistä. Mahdollisista muistakin retkikohteista otetaan vinkkejä vastaan.

Kaivakaa saappaat esiin, sekä korit ja keruuveitset. Ja harjoitelkaa soutamista! (ihan totta, vapaaehtoiset soutajat tulevat enemmän kuin tarpeeseen jotta perille päästään joskus, jos esim. saaristossa haluamme käydä...)

Theatre Olemus was founded to excercise not only for performing arts and theatre but also for studying health, healing and being itself. So we're going to arrange some small scale field trips around Helsinki for friends who are interested of herbal healing and organic food ( for example mushrooms picked up from forest, could it be more organic food than that? :)

More info coming soon(ish), for friends. Sivan has the knowledge of collecting herbs and how to use them, Tuulia will be the organising personnel.

Teatteri Olemus did some butoh-improv @ It's all in your mind

Teatteri Olemus ja ihanat naiset Tiistai-kollektiivista pistivät butoillen Endless Mirrors -yhtyeen vastatessa musiikista, paikkana Myymälä2. Ilta oli täynnä pörinää.

The head mistress of Teatteri Olemus and a collection of lovely ladies from Tuesday group of master Ken Mai's butoh lessons did some serious butoh improvisation on an event of improvised music and noise at Myymälä2, Helsinki.

Lovely ladies this time were: Mari, Reija, Karelia, Maija, Tuulia.

Teatteri Olemus on kutsuttu Pietariin! Moskovaan! Pohjois-Karjalaan!

Teatteri Olemus kartoittaa kesällä butoh-tanssin kautta mahdollisuuksia olla yhteydessä naapurikansoihin. Kutsut ovat saapuneet ja apurahat lähtevät hakuun. Tiedotamme, kun saamme lisätietoa asiasta.

Teatteri Olemuksen hallituksen kokouksessa on myös mainittu butoh-lyhärin suunnitteleminen ja toteutus. Seuraamme mielenkiinnolla valmistumista. Tämä toteutetaan luultavasti yhteistyössä Pienen Julman Teatterin kanssa.

Myös Helsingin alueen ruohonjuuritason kulttuuriin vaikuttamisesta on puhuttu. Teatteri Olemus kartoittaakin seuraavaksi mahdollisten tilanteen mukaan vaihtuvia yhteistyökumppaneita, butotanssijoita, improvisointiin kykeneviä kansalaisia tai kokeellisia muusikoita, pieniin performansseihin, jotka ottaisivat tilansa eri eventeissä tai keväisen Kallion kaduilla.
